Hydraulique Sans Frontieres
Partner 5Hydraulique Sans Frontières (HSF) is a non-governmental organization (NGO) founded in 1990, primarily working in the fields of water and sanitation. Its mission is to improve the living conditions of the most disadvantaged populations by creating sustainable infrastructure and training local partners. HSF operates in rural and peri-urban areas where access to safe drinking water and adequate sanitation is either lacking or insufficient. All projects are carried out in close collaboration with local partners and community members. Villagers are actively involved in every decision that affects their daily lives and ultimately take ownership of the infrastructure, which becomes municipal property. This participatory approach ensures that the facilities are well-adapted to the local context and can be sustainably maintained by the communities themselves. Qualified HSF volunteers, supported by staff members, contribute technical expertise and provide training in maintenance, institutional support, and system operation. This knowledge transfer helps embed good practices locally. HSF adheres to a strong ethical code grounded in its core values: humanism, solidarity, and efficiency. Through its work, HSF actively contributes to the achievement of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 6: Clean Water and Sanitation.
